Methodology v1.0 · Immutable per batch

Carbon accounting, transparently.

Every factor configurable. Every calculation reproducible. Every credit batch locks the methodology version used at mint time — old credits stay auditable forever.

Core principle

Net is not gross.

Most carbon platforms sell gross CO₂ avoided. We deduct grid emissions, tire wear, microplastic pollution, and charging losses before issuing a single credit. The credit you buy is what's left — that's the net climate value.

# Gross savings Gross ICE Emissions = miles_driven × ICE_baseline_factor_g_per_mi EV Operational Emit = miles × efficiency_kWh_per_mi × grid_factor_g_per_kWh Gross CO₂ Avoided = Gross ICE Emissions − EV Operational Emit # Tire-wear / microplastic penalty Tire Wear Rate = base × weight_mult × tire_type_mult × behavior_mult Tire Material Loss = miles × Tire Wear Rate // grams Tire CO₂e Penalty = Tire Material Loss × CO₂e_per_gram × material_risk_score # Other penalties Charging Inefficiency = EV Operational Emit × 0.08 # Net + credit Net CO₂e Benefit = Gross Avoided − Grid − Tire Penalty − Other Penalties Credit Contribution = max(0, Net CO₂e Benefit) / 1000 // 1 credit = 1 metric ton

Regional grid emissions

9 grid factors. Reality, not averages.

Where you charge matters. An EV in West Virginia (coal-heavy) emits ~3× the gCO₂/kWh of one in California. We track the grid factor per region the trip happened in, not a global average.

Versioning & disclosures

Old credits stay auditable forever.

Each credit batch records exactly which methodology version minted it. New science → new version. Existing credits remain bound to the assumptions they were minted under — no retroactive changes, no rug-pulls.

Disclosures on every credit
  • Calculations are estimates until verified by approved methodology
  • Tire-wear and microplastic deductions are included transparently
  • Charging inefficiency penalty of 8% applied to EV grid emissions
  • Methodology versions are immutable per credit batch
